Anna Thandi Cai

Anna Thandi Cai (they/them) joined Alford Group in 2022 as a Marketing Associate. Thandi is passionate about the intersection of community organizing, art and design. They bring a decade of experience in community design work and project management. Their personal design research centers the reclamation of storytelling and historical archiving in the Asian diaspora.
Prior to Alford Group, they worked for various nonprofit organizations as a graphic designer and programs manager where they gained invaluable perspectives on artist support, art education programming, strategic communication design, and grant writing and fundraising.
Their work has been recognized by Graphic Design USA, Chicago’s Caxton Club for book arts, Chuquimarca Art Library, Chicago Art Department, the Art Institute of Chicago’s New Artist Society Fellowship and the Memphis Crosstown Arts Artist Residency. They are also a 2022 recipient of Indie Memphis Film Festival’s Indiegrant Award for documentary storytelling.
Fun Fact: Thandi loves learning languages. In addition to English, they speak Mandarin, Bahasa and Sesotho.
