Alford Group congratulates the Blood Bank of Alaska (BBA) on the successful completion of their new state-of-the-art blood bank facility serving the people of the state of Alaska.

The new facility celebrated its official opening on May 20, 2016 in Anchorage, Alaska. The $45.1 million project was made possible through the generous support of the state of Alaska along with hundreds of generous individual, foundation and corporate supporters. Alford Group provided strategic campaign counsel to BBA to raise the philanthropic support.

The mission of the Blood Bank of Alaska is to provide a safe, pure and potent blood supply for Alaskans. As the only blood bank located in Alaska, the blood donated by the thousands of volunteer blood donors supports 21 hospitals in the state, including military and Alaska Native hospitals. Over 24,000 units of blood are processed every year and delivered thousands of miles away from Barrow to Ketchikan. The new state-of-the-art laboratory provides access to in-state testing, additional storage space, security controls and expansion of services to deliver improved health care for all Alaskans. Generous donations, volunteer hours and advocacy have made it possible for the new Blood Bank of Alaska to support its hospitals for generations to come. Congratulations BBA!
