Giving USA Report Details

First published in 1956, Giving USA: The Annual Report on Philanthropy is the longest running, most comprehensive report on philanthropy in the United States. It is researched and written by the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. The Giving USA 2023 report was released June 20th by The Giving Institute.  Alford Group is a longtime supporter of Giving USA and member of The Giving Institute.

Jaron Bernstein, MBA, Consultant at Alford Group has a background in arts and culture, affordable housing, community development and human services. Notably, Jaron worked at Writers Theatre outside Chicago, leading corporate and foundation fundraising while the organization undertook a $35-million capital campaign to construct a new facility.

Stephanie Ellis-Smith, CEO & Principle at Phila Engaged Giving is a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP) and has nearly 30 years of experience in advising high-impact individuals and companies. She works with ultra-high net wealth and high-profile individuals, families, foundations and corporations to invest in people and organizations.

Alex Jakana, Program Officer at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation manages a portfolio of media investments in support of the foundation’s global health and development goals in Africa, India, China, Europe and the U.S. Before joining the foundation, Alex was Executive Producer of editorial partnerships at the BBC in London.

Dilnaz Waraich, President of the WF Fund is a philanthropic advocate, community builder, educator and interfaith leader with more than three decades of experience in relationship building, cultural sensitivity facilitation, spiritual engagement and civic empowerment. As a Fellow with the National Center for Family Philanthropy, she is known for bringing awareness and recognition to multiple community foundations, family foundations and storytelling initiatives.
