Thriving and Surviving: Navigating Philanthropy This Day and Age
Friday, April 28 8:30am-10:00am
Presenters: President & CEO Brenda B. Asare, Executive Vice President & East Division Manager Sharon Tiknis, and Director of Legacy Giving for Covenant Retirement Communities John Wallgren
This session will explore the most important attributes of a strong culture of philanthropy and discuss how organizations can expand philanthropy and engage various donor constituencies. This session will also explore critical issues facing long-term care organizations as they seek to diversify their funding base. We will look at fundraising trends in the aging services sector and highlight the stages of transforming the culture of nonprofit Boards into philanthropy-driven Boards. We will also highlight benchmarks of high-performing development offices that can be used to measure organizations’ effectiveness in growing and sustaining philanthropic resources.
A dynamic panel will share their insights on how their organizations created a culture of philanthropy and what they learned along the way. The group discussion will allow time for participants to be able to assess their own organization’s culture of philanthropy and develop a mini plan that they can take with them and implement back home.
