SEATTLE, September 19, 2017 – Alford Group is pleased to welcome Mary Kaufman-Cranney, CFRE, as a vice president of the firm effective October 3, 2017.

Her knowledge in this field is tremendous and will significantly benefit our clients.”
Throughout her career, Kaufman-Cranney has directed a dozen campaigns, securing more than $250 million for efforts in Washington State and around the world. Prior to Alford Group, Kaufman-Cranney served as director of philanthropy for The Nature Conservancy of Washington. There she developed the organization’s major gift program; doubled annual operating support in three years; and successfully launched a five-year $160 million campaign, raising 58% of the goal in the first two years.
“Mary’s expertise in engaging volunteer leaders and staff in developing strong donor relations, securing principal gifts, and building overall organizational capacity will add value for our clients across the country,” said Brenda B. Asare, president and CEO of Alford Group.
In addition to The Nature Conservancy, Kaufman-Cranney has held leadership positions for both the Seattle Opera and the YMCA of Greater Seattle. Serving as the director of development for the Seattle Opera, Kaufman-Cranney reinvigorated a $10 million annual campaign and led a $75 million comprehensive campaign. As head of development with the YMCA, she directed three major capital campaigns securing $60 million for the construction of new facilities.

Kaufman-Cranney serves her community in a number of ways. She is an adjunct co-professor at Seattle University, a trustee to Washington State University’s Education Advisory Board, and has served on the Washington AFP Board for more than a decade. Kaufman-Cranney received the Washington Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Fundraiser of the Year award in 2015.
