Shay Upadhyay joined Alford Group in 2022 as a Client Service Associate. Shay graduated from Indiana University-Bloomington with a BSPA in Nonprofit Management and Leadership, a minor in Social Welfare Advocacy, and a certificate in Political and Civic Engagement. Prior to joining Alford Group, Shay consulted for various nonprofit organizations, including The Indiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence, Pro-Choice Maryland, and Pro-Choice Virginia.

Shay is passionate about reproductive rights/health issues and domestic violence prevention. In 2020, she presented her workshop “Youth Defined Prevention Strategies” at the National Resource Center for Domestic Violence annual Town Hall. As a Senior Fellow at Pro-Choice Maryland, she led the Access Team Initiative. In her role, she facilitated local groups of Marylanders to improve access to sexual and reproductive healthcare in their respective communities.

Shay is currently a member of the Chicago Women in Philanthropy (CWIP) Membership Committee and the Chicago Council on Planned Giving (CCPG) Program Committee. She is also a mentee in the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Peer Mentoring Program and recently joined the Indiana University Alumni Association (IUAA) Board as Co-Chair of the Arts and Culture Committee.

Fun Fact: In her free time, Shay loves to spend time at the lake, do hot yoga, and listen to the Armchair Expert podcast series.
